Brinchang Holiday Bungalow 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I went to Cameron Highlands on 6-Nov-2009. We rent the Brinchang Holiday Bungalow for 2 nights which cost us RM1200 per night.

We rent the bungalow on-line. The description and photos of the bungalow seems like perfect and worth for the price.

http://www.bjaya.com/cameron_brinchangbungalow.html

BRINCHANG HOLIDAY BUNGALOW
All bungalow are equipped with quality fittings & furnishings, suitable for
family & friends gathering. 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom, for 13-15 pax, Fully
furnished, Astro TV program, Kitchen with utensil. BBQ pit.
available upstairs only

LOCATION
Brinchang Town, Cameron Highlands
10 minutes distance to Tanah Rata Town
My comment: Location is good. It is opposite Shell petro station.

About the bungalow, I have several comments about it:-
1) I would describe the “Bungalow” as home stay because we are sharing the same building with the owner who stayed at ground floor. We paid RM1200 for home stay… sounds ridiculous, right? (See picture 1st row)
2) We need to walk upstairs by using staircase beside the “Bungalow” to enter the house. (See picture 2nd row left).
3) “All bungalows are equipped…” Sorry, only one bungalow available there. Surrounding is bushes and quarters.
4) It’s impossible to hold gathering in that “Bungalow” living hall because the actual living hall available on 1st floor is about size of one sedan car porch. Living hall showed in picture 2nd row right is located in ground floor, which means that occupied by the owner.
5) 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms are available. Bedrooms are equipped with new matress and clean window panel. But need to be aware that you might get cold shower during halfway showering. The hot water supply is not enough for 5 bathrooms operation.
6) Astro TV program is not available due to they didn’t pay for it. So end up we never turn on TV for that 2 days.
7) Kitchen with utensil??? Hmm… Kitchen size is small, it only able to fit 2 people in. Utensil means that one hob gas cooker, one spoilt rice cooker and dirty & stained plates and bowls.
8) BBQ pit??? It’s only a Kuih Kapit stove that placed under the staircase.

The most horrible thing is when we joke or laugh louder; the owner will walk up and show her face in front of glass panel door. Huh… no privacy at all! She shouldn’t rent out her upstairs if she cannot accept the noise.

To me I feel like cheated. We are paying for Mercedes but we get only a Proton Saga.
This is my small advice to any friends who want to rent this “Bungalow”.

The purpose of having a bungalow is to have privacy. I can't imagine staying in a bungalow with the owner staying below you. It's like renting a room in an owner occupied apartment. Must as well stay in a hotel at least it comes with breakfast.

Advising people to avoid Cool Point Hotel at Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands because it is very dirty, not cleaned after previous guests who occupied the room, shower quality poor, water flows like a cat having a pee, tap turns round and round. When approached the manageress, she was rude and accused us of moving furniture. Why in God's name would we want to move hotel furniture??? The cleaning standard is way below the cheapest hotels. Cool POint need to visit a Tune Hotel and learn from them, for a 1/3 of the cost Tune Hotels are spotlessly clean with excellent service. Breakfast in Cool Point is something else, it was disgusting, cold and the tea and coffee was so watered down it was like coloured water.

Is this what Malaysia offers the tourists??????

Equatorial Hotel 11 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Staying at Equatorial Cameron Highlands now in their standard room. Although it's a bit expensive, and the deco is a bit old fashioned, but I like the services of the reception, they are very helpful and friendly. I love the views around this Hotel, it really relaxes all the human senses. I love the mountain view surrounding this hotel, it is actually right smack at the top in the tallest area in Cameron Highlands (almost). Although the surrounding area is not a busy town like Brinchang or Tanah Rata, but this is the beauty of it. It is quiet and relaxing, you can enjoy your evening tea in the Coffee Shop without anyone interrupting, without noises to ruin your day. If you want a busy town, just arrange with the hotel so they can transport you to any destination by van. Brinchang is only 10 minutes away, Tanah Rata 20 minutes. If you want to see the culture in Cameron Highlands, which is a farming community, Tringkap is only 10 minutes in the opposite direction of Brinchang. This small town is not a tourist destination, instead it is filled with farmers, this place you will see the real side of Cameron Highlands. To be honest, Equatorial Hotel isn't a high class Hotel, I wouldn't even rate it 6/10, but this place is very nice if you want a relaxing holiday, and truthfully, it's worth every penny.

Re:Hotel Reviews 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
There's new Homestay/Guest House in Brinchang Town which I recently booked and stay for a night. As a sales person, I'd got the cheapest rates which i'd compared with others around here. it's call SAM Guest House now.
There are care takers of the house and they are friendly and had treated me tea & scones F.O.C as a first timer.
For this, I'll do the same to help them promoting it here.
their recent blog is www.samguesthousehighlands.blogspot.com
Please show your salesman's card to enjoy special rate like me.

I've stayed at this new chic place in Tanah Rata called DO CHIC IN about 2weeks ago together with my friends and family. Located at Greenhill Resort and with beautiful scenery. Great place and cozy feeling and their price is reasonable as the owners themselves have provided us with great breakfast and personalised services and.

Those interested may view their place via facebook as i've posted photos in their Facebook.

www.facebook.com/dochicin.cameronhighlands

or may email to them via dochicin@yahoo.com . You may call them directly +6019-2286689 / +6012-3535110 for fast confirmation or further information.

I'm planning to stay at their place soon and bringing my own parents and other friends for gatherings as they told us that they do serve "private kitchen" at their place too if you do want to have special dinner meals at their place while your stay.
The photos of the food looks really good and i'm already planning my next trip now!

Hope all the travellers out there will look into their Facebook and stay at their place if intend to go Cameron Highlands for a short peaceful holiday and good food.
Every cent u spent there is worth it!! Thumbs up for the 2 lovely owners and thank you again!!!
