Hi B2t, I am andrew also from Singapore. Glad to here that you are going to Cameron Highland. Both trips this year, I stayed at Strawberry Park.
It is rather isolated, esp without your own transport. Though the environment is very exclusive, nice and quiet. Children may not like it. And there is a strawberry farm in the resort.
If you have not book your rooms, you can consider "Rosa Passadena Hotel" they have rooms for 3 to 4 people. Rates is lower than Strawberry Park. I am planning to stay there on my next visit.
Very convenient for those without transport. Evening you can stroll around Brinchang point. The nearest Strawberry Farm is 10 mins walk. This is known as "Big Red strawberry Farm" Free entrance and they also grow vegetables, cactuses and flowers. Open daily at around 8.30am to 5.30pm. Fully covered that means rain or shine you can visit.
They have a gift shop and a cafeteria. They sell strawberry, veges etc. Children will enjoy having strawberry ice cream or drinks there. Clean and cool environment with toilets facilities. No limit of time spend there. Most people out of courtesy will buy something at the shop or have a drink though not compulsory. Just in front of this farm is the cactus valley, here they charge an entrance fee. From the main entrance of Rosa Passadena Hotel walk down the slope. You will see a row of shop houses. Go to the other side, cross the road and you can see the Cactus valley. From here to the farm and cactus valley is only 150m. Before you cross the road look out for a restaurant "Oldies and Goodies" Good food and reasonable price. Noodles are about 5-6 Rm. per plate. Rice, porridges etc all reasonable price. Quality like crystal Jade standard. Most important is clean and hygienic. To go to kea farm or Tanah Rata you can get a cab. The hotel organise local tour and they may have shuttle service.
Best I can do at the moment. Good luck and have a pleasant trip. Will look forward to your comments after your trip.
