recent trip - 2006/10/30 17:32 We were at CH Deepa-Raya holiday, this is my 2nd trip to CH. This time, we stay in Century Pine Resort, though a bit expensive, but it's worth it-room is clean, service is good, and location is great.

I got to taste the rotiprata which I miss for 4 years, it is as tastely as I remembered. The night market is good, got good bargain. Tea plantation visit is fantastic.

However, a disappointment when I visited the cafe in Smokehouse Hotel, thinking that I can rekindled the feeling 4 years ago.. The service is sloppy, the place is run down...the tea is served in cheap metal pot (even the tea houses in BOH and Cameron Valley use porcelain), the staff look tired to carry out conversation other than what seem necessary. I hope this is an isolated case.

Overall, we have a wonderful trip, in fact ,we are planning another trip in a month's time.

Jen

Re:CH's Top Eateries 2006 - 2006/11/13 22:15 I have liked the T-cafe from the start and I know Teresa quite well. Theatmosphere is really great, and it's good to have tea or coffee there, there's no alternative.
but the western food is not really thrilling.
Idf you happen to stay at the Lutheran Mission: they have great roasted chicken and Schnitzel for dinner, I believe only for overnight guests.

Re:CH's Top Eateries 2006 - 2006/11/23 14:47 Both mayflower and Hong Kong Restaurant are not Halal.

I cant think of a steamboat restaurant which is halal. The only ones i know are those restaurants which are located in the hotels.

Re:CH's Top Eateries 2006 - 2006/11/23 14:58 Thanks for the feedback Joe. Will try to look for a steamboat at one of the hotels.

Where can get bigger size strawberry? My last visit to CH, only small strawberries available. Can't find big size and where to get cheap flowers to bring back to KL. Do you have any idea how to make sure that the flowers/plants last forever? Last time I brought plants/flowers back to KL and can't last long - all dried up.

Re:CH's Top Eateries 2006 - 2006/11/23 22:59 Golden Win restaurant is halal in the sense that they do not serve pork and there are mulim workers over there.
