Re:My 2006 Ch trip - 2006/06/17 19:20
Please view their website:

My room was a family room with long bath, but you can save a lot of money in a double room with toilet/shower for RM 44. They have a dog which I already met last year, a very social pet who is great with children and adults alike.
They have a nice Indonesian lady who very often works at the reception and is also the cook. Her fried rice is delicious and the serve is so huge that 2 people can eat. Their tea and scones can compete with those from T Cafe and Bala's Chalet. You may want to try the simple cooked Western breakast which when I'm not mistaken costs RM, chillie fried rice also RM 4.
Just one disadvange, their policy is walk-in guests who may end up staying longer than planned. You need to be brave to just come without booking. It is about 5 min at the most for a very slow walker with blisters all over the feet like myself. MOst likely it is 2 min from the bus terminal at the main road(jl. Besar).
What I think need to be given special kudos is their attitude towards guests who would like to venture out on their own to explore the woods(not a rain forest with rough spots compared to Mt. Mulu or Kinibalu). The treks in Ch, however, are not as well sign-posted as Sarawak, where it is nearly impossible to get lost. Cameronian staff are extremely helpful to assist you and provide a knowledgable guide if you wish. Yes, the owners are Indian and there are a few Indonesian girls working there.
Oh....and by the way, I noticed more construction than last year, did I just imagine or is it true?
