Re:My experience, oh my God, its too long:-P sorry~~ - 2004/10/15 09:54 Hi Joanne,

Yes, what you said is my sentiments exactly. I'd prefer to stay at one of the "Tudor" or old english cottage designed hotels rather than an upmarket & modern hotel. I've had more than my fair share of those and coming from a concrete jungle, it'll be a welcome change.

One thing I'd like to feedback about SP is that they don't reply email enquiries. Also, booking online doesn't get any replies till I checked with their web host. (MaxCarry)

And even more frustating is that with no reply, I called up SP directly and the guy told me there was no vacancies on the 5th to 7th Nov. Then lo & behold, I get an email a couple of minutes later from the web host stating that my reservation is confirmed.

Re:My experience, oh my God, its too long:-P sorry~~ - 2004/10/26 09:43 Hi Joanne,

You're not going to CH anymore? Sorry to hear that. yes, I'll be staying at SP the week before Hari Raya weekend. Hopefully, the roads are accessible and the weather is good.

Managed to get my friend to go together with his family....... phew..... at least there's some company and some more eyes look at road signs. Hope I don't get lost getting there. It'll be a "blind leading the blind" situation...........

As I've not driven so far North on my own. Can someone advise which turnout to take along the NS Highway (coming from south) to avoid going into KL city. That'll be worse and I'll definitely be lost for sure.

Thanks.

Re:My experience, oh my God, its too long:-P sorry~~ - 2004/10/28 21:10 u won't be driving directly into KL city center if u are coming from the south.
once u passed the Sungei Besi Toll, head straight until i see the old military
air field on your left, then at the end u hv to keep left n' follow the sign until u reach
the Istana negara, from there u will follow the sign to Duta toll plaza,
n' u are on ur way to the north.

very straightforward n' easy..

Re:My experience, oh my God, its too long:-P sorry~~ - 2004/10/29 10:43 Hi Joanne, I'm from Singapore.

Yo Alex, thanks for the directions. Hope they have a big name on the toll stations saying "Sungei Besi". Otherwise, from the map that I have, looks like I need to detour towards Shah Alam direction, then link back to the "E1" highway to go towards Ipoh. Errr....... is this the same as what you're referring to?

I really regret I followed my friends blindly the last time I drove to Genting & KL.

Re:My experience, oh my God, its too long:-P sorry~~ - 2004/11/01 08:31 Hi Joanne,

Sorry to hear about your elbow injury. Hope it recovers well and fine.

I'll be back to work during that 10th to 14th November. Too much things to do that it was a squeeze even to get my leave for this trip.
