Rosa Passedena Hotel - 2008/06/19 14:31 Hi there, I thought of going CH early July. How's the hotel, in terms of service, cleanliness etc. Btw, the hotel is not high up like Strawberry Park and Equatorial Hotel, I mean, the view (no mountain or scenic garden view) or is there? thanks for your feedback, if any. really not sure which hotel to stay, going with my elderly mum...

Then we transfer to century pines .. it's quite pleasant stay .. we paid rm208/room for superrior room with b/fast 4 2pax.. at 1st we plan 2 stay a nite there but coz of the cleanliness , condition of the room we finally spend the whole trip there .. they got bath tub in the room which my princess spend most of her time there ..the waiter's there are also kind .. they can take care of my princess while i m eating ... 4 the b/fast buffet , the food are quite tasty , the western food too .. i tried black pepper c/chop and it so dlicious ...the last nite there we plan 2 have steambot but they said that the vege stock have finished .. bside there is a playground just across from the hotel that very attracting my d'ther ..

1 thinz i m not stisfied is the weather while i m there ... 1st day when we arrived it's quite heavy rain .. then 4 the 2nd & 3rd day it was very hot even my d/ther don't need any blanket and spend the most of her time in the bath tub ..it's quite tension when we'ra sweaty but there havent any fan @ air cond 2 switch on .. s the visitor there ,i think CH is not s cold s b4 , while my 1st trip there ...

Re:bala chalet? - 2008/08/27 09:28
I stayed in Bala's Chalet with my family and frankly, I found it very dissappointing.
Granted, the views are great, the setting is good (not too far awy from the main market, but at the same time very quite ambience)and their scones are good( but pricey).
But the service leaves much to be deisred.
Even if you do choose to stay here,, please do not take the Family room or the superior room right next to the family room, unless you want to spend sleepless nights with every small, tiny noise made in the upstairs bedroom getting amplified multifold.
My kids stayed in the 'attic' and they could not move an inch or whisper to one another without my knowing. Frankly, my kids have had better holidays!!
Though there were other rooms available, the mangement was very reluctant to shift us to another room.
Also since it is a 'family'run business, I find the quality of service seem to vary depending on who is sitting in the main reception.

Re:bala chalet? - 2008/08/28 09:37 Maybe many people did not aware that Bala Chalet is a Caucasian BOOTLICKERS (pengampu). I remember my stay in Bala Chalet was disappointing too. Although the environment was not bad, but it seems like they were not keen to serve Asians or locals like us. When Mr. Bala or even his staff saw locals like us, they served us like as if they did not eat for one week and respond to us slowly as if they tried to ignore us. But when their staff saw white men or Caucasians, they will serve them like Gods and Goddesses with full energy and enthusiasm. Well, this is the truth about Bala Chalet. Have a nice trip in Cameron Highlands!

Re:bala chalet? - 2008/08/28 10:52 Don't worry, birthday cakes are easily available in Cameron Highlands, if you want something nicer, you can buy Secret Recipe cakes at its branch in Brinchang. Happy Birthday in CH!

Re:bala chalet? - 2008/08/28 16:20 I'm supposed the local bakery shop in Brinchang is still open huh? But their birthday cake is not so "innovative" like Secret Recipe if you need a ready made one. OK, ok, you can also purchased birthday cake in Equatorial Hotel too if I'm not mistaken, they also have cakes similar to what secret recipe offers but I think the price is a bit costly. Is it ok?

Re:bala chalet? - 2008/08/28 16:28 I used to have high tea and tiramisu cake at Cameron Highlands Resort (opposite the golf course), they do sell nice cakes which can be used as birthday cake. Since the piece of tiramisu I ate cost me around RM16 (before tax), try to imagine how much a cake will cost? But no doubt it was not bad, decent cake to eat. Happy Birthday to you in CH!
