Tourism in CH Is Deteriorating - 2008/07/19 15:22 Tour operators, F&B operators, hotel & resort (accomodation) operators, vegetable and flower farmers, all the stall operators in Cameron Highlands including night market (pasar malam) operators, please please please. Kindly wake up and improve yourself, whether from the aspects of service or propduct innovation and creativity. We are totally out even compare to our neightbour. I went to Chiang Rai and CHiang Mai highlands, Bandung in Indonesia, Baguio in the Phillipines even Da Lat or more remote Dien Bien Phu highlands in Vietnam. Whether is hotel service, tour service, food, entertainment or innovation and creativity on products (including agriculture products), they are way much better than us and theprices are very competitive too, not expensive. If you don't believe, go there and take a look because I am utterly disappointed and speechless already. Don't say that I make biased and baseless remarks. Well, have a NICE day in Cameron Highlands!

Re:Tourism in CH Is Deteriorating - 2008/07/20 11:50 To tell you frankly, the federal and local government are both doing nothing much about this scenario until it comes out in The Star newspaper saying that tonnes of money spend by government to promote tourism but nothing much has been done by local government to optimise the money to promote tourism in different states. It is useless to waste your effort to criticise them (the government and the tour, hotel and f&b operators) just let them rot to the core and die off. Let REALLY DISCIPLINED AND TALENTED people to take over these useless half-past-six bumps to save our national tourism scenario! That's all I have to say about it.

Re:Tourism in CH Is Deteriorating - 2008/07/21 10:42 Even the goverment had launched various so-called boosting tourism programme and obviously many stalls had been build in cameron highlands but unforttunately this has made cameron highlands eye-scracthing with this kind of stalls. It totally ruined the scenery of Cameron. I hope the municipal authority could take note on this matter.

Re:Tourism in CH Is Deteriorating - 2008/07/21 13:26 Dear Clerence,

The actual term to accurately describe those unscenic stalls is "eyesore". They are nothing but a bunch of eyesore stalls/hawker spoiling the view of Cameron Highlands. Have a nice day in Cameron Highlands!
