 Question bout CH - 2008/05/03 01:15 i will go to CH on 6 mei with 2 frens by bus coach. We are wondering whether want to stay in Tanah Rata or Brinchang?Any comment?If stay in Rosa Passadena hotel, are the places of interest within walking distance?From Tanah Rata bus station to Brinchang, is it easy to get a taxi?Approximately how much?
About the local company tour, is the office at tanah rata bus stop?can i just walk-in and say i want to join?then they will come and fetch us at hotel?

 Re:Question bout CH - 2008/05/03 14:45 Hi Vivian, You made the right choice to stay at Rosa Passadena. This is at Brinchang Point. From the entrance of the hotel you will see a row of shop houses. Walk to the other side of this row of shop houses and across the road is the Cactus Valley, next to it is the Big Red strawberry Farm. Both are within walking distance from your hotel. About 15mins should I say 400 meters.

Before you cross the road along the row of shop houses look out for a restaurant "Oldies & Goodies" Reasonable price and quality food. Noodles, congees, roast duck etc. Steam-boat for dinner. Friendly service.

For taxis in cameron highlands, should not be a problem. Check fares before taking. I am unable to help because I drove there. Sorry. Just behind your hotel, there are more shops and restaurants. You just need to walk there. The restaurant "O K Tuck" steam-boat is also good though service is so so only.

To go Kea farm or Tanah Rata you need taxi. Always ask the reception of the hotel for help regarding tours, Rosa Passadena can arrange for u.

Wish you have a pleasant trip. Dont worry be happy at Cameron even if is your first time.

Is deposit needed during check-in? Coz we havent book hotel and plan to walk-in and pay on day arrival..hopefully there is stil room available..LOL

 Re:Question bout CH - 2008/05/03 15:40 Hi Vivian, if u are arriving on 6th may which is a weekday u may just walk in. In case u cannot get your rooms you can then walk to Star Regency which is 5mins from Rosa passadena. There are also some budget hotels around there if you are not too particular. My experience is pay for one night and the rest on check out.

The local tours will bring you to most of the places of interest. They will tell u where they going to bring u. Remember, Cactus valley and Big red strawberry farm is near these two hotel, u can just walk there. If u go to the vege, fruit & flower market at kea farm, do bargain your purchases. eg they say 5 pkts for Rm 10. my wife will offer 8 for rm 10. At the end of this market there are vegetables farm. Here u can see the equatorial hotel. Just explore when u are there, cameron highlands is rather safe. Of course dont go jungle trekking on your own. By the way a reasonable steam boat dinner is about Rm 18 per head. The oldies and goodies noodles is about Rm 5.50 to 6. Just relax all of u will be fine. Cheers.
