Bala Holiday Chalet or Century Pines or? - 2008/03/25 11:27 Hi guys,

I am planning a trip to CH in April. There are a few accomodation places that I'm contemplating, namely the Century Pines and Bala Holiday Chalet. Can anyone give me some opinions on the 2? Or are there any better accomodation around?

Thanks a lot.

Re:Bala Holiday Chalet or Century Pines or? - 2008/04/13 20:47 Hi CI, I hope my reply doesn't come too late. I just came back from Cameron...just now Had a 1 night stay at Bala's Chalet, which was yesterday - 12 APR 2008.

It was simply astonishing! Love the room(I stayed in Superior room, RM160 weekend rate, breakfast NOT included)which is small but sweet, and newly painted.

The garden-speechless! They have small tables with chairs scattered along the rooms so that you can sit down for a chat or something. View is marvellous.

Service wise, average. I realised their staffs are multi-tasking, it is more like a 'family' run business, the service wasn't superb but it was with slight personal touch which I like. Mr Bala is friendly too.

I didn't have meal at the restaurant so no comment on that. I did check on the menu, it is quite pricy, a set of American breakfast cost around RM25.

There are some reviews in the forum commented terribly about this chalet, It did hold me back for awhile but after seeing the pictures of Bala's Chalet, and also feedback from a close friend - I decided to give a try. My husband and myself were indeed very impress(well, to be fair and honest the view and atmosphere worth priceless).

Bala's Chalet will definitely be our next stay up at Cameron highland.

Re:Bala Holiday Chalet or Century Pines or? - 2008/05/29 10:31 I am thinking between these two choices. I've read a lot from the internet and it seems that the garden in Bala's is everyone's favorite...but that's about it. I've heard that the room is musky and the carpet, bed and pillows are damp. But i really like the style. I thought of giving it a try. I'll be driving up to CH tomorrow.

I'm also considering Strawberry Park. I called a moment ago and oh my, their Studio rooms are starting at RM308.20! But they do have RM70 voucher to go along with it.

So if any of you could give me a quick reply on Bala's i do appreciate it.

It is a very last minute plan, really. And i'm not aware that there are sooooo many visitors to Cameron Highlands. Pardon my ignorance.

Anyway i've booked a room with Tudor Home Inn. Not much have been said about the place. Probably too new? I hope i didn't make a wrong choice. Anyway i am still very keen with Bala's. I want a more Tudor and English style accommodation rather than just another hotel. So really, any comments with Bala's?

I called up a few places. All are fully booked. Strawberry, Twin Pines, Equatorial, etc. But what about Father's? Looks great from the photos.

Any comments and help would be deeply appreciated.

p/s: I have a budget around RM300 for a single night. So please throw me some suggestions too!
