Re:Cameron 20 - 23 March - 2008/03/25 20:43
Hello, I am Andrew. I went to CH twice this year with my wife. First trip on 29 Jan 08 to 31st and the most recent one was 17 mar to 20 mar 2008.
April 12-13 is a week-end. You must book your room before you go. I had check with a few hotels heritage, strawberry park, equatorial, century pines, weekend rates are much higher that is around 200 to 300 rm per night. There is one call Rosa Pandesena at Brinchang next to Public Bank. I was told its 168 ringgit for friday & Saturday. This includes breakfast for two.
Infront of the hotel there is a block of shop houses. There is a spa shop and 2 doors away there is this restuarant call "Goodies & oldies" or rather "Oldies and goodies." Here they have good hongkong style noodles, porridge roast ducks, etc. In the evening they also serve steam boat about 36 Rm for two. If you can really eat go ahead or else order something else. They have quite a variety to choose. Most important is they are very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. E.g. a bowl of wanton 10pcs is Rm 5 and a plate of roast duck and pork is Rm 5.50. Most of the single dish is around Rm 5 to Rm 6.
Directly opposite this restuarant is the Catus Valley. Next to the cactus valley is the Big Red Strawberry farm. Free admission to the strawberry farm. But you need to pay to visit the cactus valley. We did not visit the cactus valley because there were plenty of cactus in the strawberry farm. You may also consider Star Regency hotel which is 4 mins walk from Rosa Pandesena.
Just behind Rosa Pandesena is the main Brinchang town. Here plenty of food outlets and all within walking distance. Budget hotels like kowloon hotel, Jasmine Hotel are located here also.
To go to kea Farm you can get a taxi, I drove there so I can't tell you the fare. On saturay night there is a pasar malam at Brinchang, also walking distance from these few hotels I mentioned.
Have a good trip and I am very sure you will go again.
