Visiting again - 2008/03/07 14:48 Hi for those who still hesitates going to Cameron Highlands. Please go and you will enjoy it.
30 years ago I went with some friends and Jan 2008 I took my wife there. She likes it so much and keep saying she would like to go again.
So next week on Monday 17 Mar. we will be driving there again. It took me about 7 hours with breaks from SecondLink.
We stayed at Strawberry Park Resort. Paid Rm227per night and we got rebate voucher of Rm 70 per night stay. We use it at the resort spa. Its really worth it. Hope to see more singaporean there during off peak season.

Sincerely yours
Andrew

Re:Visiting again - 2008/03/07 22:56 Can the voucher be used on food and beverages such as room service?

Re:Visiting again - 2008/03/08 11:30 Yes u can use it for F & B. U can also use it for the local tour arranged by the hotel. I was told u can use it at the shop infront of the check in counter.

Sorry they did not give me the voucher, what I did was charged it to my room account and during check out we settled the differences.

We were there during off peak period so the hotel say its a promotion rate. The massage cost of Rm 90 for one hour is also a promotion rate but must be between (11am---3pm).

Re:Visiting again - 2008/03/09 21:44 Sounds like they are using the same marketing trick as EQ Hotel. How did you find the rooms etc? Were you provided with a balcony?

Re:Visiting again - 2008/03/12 20:18 Hi, the room we had was ok and clean. Every room comes with a balcony and some plants. They called this studio apartment. It has a small pantry, a living room if u slide up the bedroom. I leave the sliding partition open and the whole apartment looks big. Dining table, sofas, t v are provided. Bathroom big and with long bath. But hot water must wait for a while.

Re:Visiting again - 2008/03/12 22:50 Thanks for your clarification. I wonder if the studio room is the one that costs the least among all in strawberry park? How big is the balcony and is it possible to move a chair out to the balcony? By the way, did i see that wrongly? A sofa?? Do you get that for just paying for a studio room?? It sounds cool. Btw, did you try out the room service food? Is it covered by the cash voucher?

Re:Visiting again - 2008/03/13 20:14 Sorry kong, the balcony is big enough for sitting outside. The floor is a little dusty, I suppose they dont mop everyday. So if u have sandals it,s ok but u need to bring the chairs out yourself. Yes a half set sofa in the living area and its clean and a coffee table too. I did not call for room service. I think they do not have room service because the rooms are in different blocks from the restuarants. Its walk up apartment. Yes the studio apartment is the cheapest one. Its for 2 and I understand some rooms can accomodate 4. The room we had come with a queen bed and a spare foam mattress. I suppose its for kids.

Re:Visiting again - 2008/03/14 22:45 Thanks a lot, Andrew! That cleared up my doubts. The dusty floor sounds very discouraging to me..and i can't imagine a hotel without room service..that would be awful(to me). The balcony is a very interesting point for me as Equatorial only provides a small little pathetic balcony where it can only accomodate two adults(in standing posture), the door's too small for me to bring the(huge)chair out too..what a pit fall for Equatorial Hotel.I've gone to Strawberry park once, just to check out the place and the notorious 180 degree bend on the way up just somehow made me dizzy.
