Restaurant Fern Nyonya, one of the nice restaurant in Tanah Rata. Other then my favorite rendang ayam, I enjoy the sizzling steak as well. Located at the same row with Maybank, the only one restaurant that has double storey in Cameran Highlands. Serve Orient, Nyonya and Western food. The price is very reasonable and I consider it is very cheap

Hi,have you heard Puncak Arabella, Tanah Rata. You should try the menus. now Restaurant Arabella Delight serve Thai's Food, malay cusine and mamak style. I bets Puncak arabella, at night you will feel more cool weather than tanah rata. Mybe Puncak Arabella located higher than Tanah Rata Town. How to get there? follow the main road. at junction (old Hospital Tanah Rata), turn right and go stright on. You will see football field on your left. Way to arabella is on your right, you will see Colors Apartments on the top of hill.just turn your 2nd gear clucth/Auto and you will make it there. Go and find.

I just come back from CH yesterday. Tried T-cafe, very dissapointed with their service and food. No smile from the waitress, scone is so-so only, the orange juice is the worst orange juice that I ever had (40% orange juice with 60% water added). Actually I don't think it deserve to be in one of the top Eateries. As for steam-boat, OK Tuck at Brinchang is quite nice they serve good prawns. There's one old time local coffee shop at Tanah Rata, two stalls away from Ferm Nyonya (facing the construction site), selling very delicious Bak Kut teh.

Top Eateries - 2007/02/05 11:19
Hi if you are looking for indian food you can visit the food stall restarunt14 located opp the taxi stand the food is good and the dosai is very nice. Suria Restaurant (Tanah Rata) - The food sucks and also very expensive(the food is not worth the money we pay). They do not understand even the basic indian food details. My choice is restarunt 14

Dear Chef; Your posing is a bit out dated. Now is 2007. So are you still talking about 2006 history???
chief wrote: It’s been a year since we conducted a poll on your favorite eating spots in Cameron Highlands. We are doing it again this year! Tell us what should be on our list this year and why. We will compile it into a Top-5 Places to Eat in Cameron Highlands (or Top 10 depending on the number of eateries). Each eatery will get a framed certificate from us stating that they are in the Cameron Highlands Top 5 Restaurants for 2006.
To kick things off, here are my personal favourites. (Which will not count in the final tally for obvious reasons)
1. T-Cafe (Tanah Rata) - Apple Pie and Scones. Great atmosphere. 2. Palm Leaf Cafe (Brinchang) - Good Thai food. 3. Suria Restaurant (Tanah Rata) - A wide selection of Indian food. 4. The Japanese restaurant beside Ambank in Tanah Rata. (Cant remember the name) - Didnt really try the japanese dishes but the regular fried stuff is good. Free WIFI too.
Cheers Chief

Nothing special about T-Cafe. Serve the super small size scones taste normal but the price make your shock. I wonder how can it deserve top 1, 2 and 3? Maybe range is a smallest scone or one of costly cafe. Probably the one who rank it is the owner itself or only visited 1 restaurant.
Please visit those restaurant such as Mayflower, OK Tuck, Ferm Restaurant, Country Lodge Restaurnt, Kowloon Restaurant, Hong Kong Restaurant etc.

Re:CH's Top Eateries 2006 - 2007/02/21 20:00
Dear Eateries judge @ Chef ; I have read the forum and wonder how chef come out with the final result; 1) Base on how may restaurants/cafe being reviewed or survey? 2) Base on feed back from how many person? 3) Best food in what categories? Western, oriental, indian, malay etc?
Without a proper statistic, how can this result being shown? And it seems not accurate at all.
Probbably it should change to "recomended restaurant" rather then judging the ranking with a proper survey and statistic.

Re:CH's Top Eateries 2006 - 2007/02/22 00:01
Dear JJ
Thanks for your comments.
This thread was started for visitors to share their views on restaurants they've been to and and for new visitors to get a general idea on dining in Cameron Highlands
This is not a review. We never claimed it's a restaurant review. It is just a poll from visitors to the website, travellers in CH and the locals.
The top 5 list is just the names that keeps coming up in the poll. Since there are many recommendations, the forum thread is open and you can see all the other restaurants which were mentioned.
Looks like you misunderstood that this is a review when in fact its just a poll / recommendation on where to eat in Cameron Highlands. Pls let us know how you got this idea so that we can take necessary steps to make it clearer.
Btw, this year we will start the poll at the second half of the year. Currently, we are working on coming up with a more comprehensive list of eateries in Cameron Highlands which will be catogorised accordingly by type, price and speciality.
Please do let us know if you have any other questions.
Regards Chief CAmeron Highlands

Dear Chef; Thanks for the clarification. Looking forward for 2007 recommendation or pool. It is good to have category because sometimes very hard to compare, for example comparing a Western Steak with Steamboat or scones & jam with nasi lemak. Maybe to make this website more interesting, you may list down all the restaurants (Mainly in Brinchang and Tanah Rata) and let visitors to vote it.
Cheers
JJ
