I just came back from CH and stayed at Century Pines for 2 nites. The duplex suite is clean and the services is ok. If U go with family should choose Suite. Only thing I don't like about CH is the food!

Re:Century Pines - 2007/08/20 09:41
I stayed in Century Pines Resort in early Aug with my family. Booked through http://www.hillresorts.net and specified some of my requirements. Would not advise anyone to book from this website if you have additional requirements (other than a simple booking of room). The service from this website is very POOR! They did not respond to any queries after sending my confirmation email & did not clarify or inform me when they were not able to meet my requirements.
FYI, there are other websites providing similar rates too.
When I checked into the hotel. Century informed me that they did not receive any of my requirements from the travel agent (of this website). I was very upset as I was travelling with my baby and was particularly about cleanliness (I was put into the old building & I wasn't aware until after I stayed 1 Night already)
While the deluxe room in the old building is spacious, the bed is HUGE, I think it would have been cleaner if I was put up in the new building. Also the access was abit difficult as it is linked to the lift of the new building via a long-winded bridge. (I was travelling with old folks too)
There has been many confusing info on this hotel about its rooms. They DO NOT have any deluxe rooms on the ground floor in the NEW building. 1st floor of the OLD building are also deluxe rooms.

I find Century Pines is costlier. Rosa passadena Hotel is right in the middle of Brinchang town. Walking distance to food outlets, tour guide office, bank, etc. Room rates are reasonable too! It includes breakfast. Condition of room is clean. Where can you find all this for the price starting from RM135 nett?

Hi pearlie,
Can you clarify something for us?
You said that you booked thru hillresorts.net, and then you stated that you were not happy with "this" website.
Can you clarify which site you meant? We think it's just of a matter of swapping "this" with "that" but we want to be sure. We want to know if we did wrong so we can improve things.
Thanks.

Hi..
I have booked for this hotel twice via this website (Cameron Highlands Online) - first early this month and I got the rate and room just as requested. I am going there this weekend once again, also by booking through here.
Just can't miss the special rate being offered here.
Thank you Cameron Highlands Online.. you're the best!

Re:Century Pines - 2007/09/13 09:22
We booked Century Pines few mths ago. The rooms come with wooden floors. The 1st time we wanted to bathe, the water was cold so I called the recep and they told me I have to switch on the heater and it takes some time to heat up. And don't bathe one after another, the water gets cold fast unless you're a fast bather and can get it done under 5 mins. Otherwise the bathrooms are clean. My daughter enjoys the bathtub very much As for the breakfast, the variety is so-so only though the food itself is not bad. Overall, the hotel is not bad, beautiful atmosphere. The rooms are clean and each room come with sliding doors at one end. We stayed on the ground floor, so every nite that we were there, we opened the doors, our relatives would gather at the balcony and we'll eat durians and chat. That was fun.

Taken from the General Section
Re:Road Conditions - 2007/11/04 02:48 [By Daddy]
Just some pointers about Century Pines if you're interested to know.
1) The room we stayed in was in the annexed building, next to the main hotel block. A covered pathway leads you to the 3 storey walk up. Room numbers starting with alphabets "A" & "B" are situated in the main multi-storey block (with lift) and "C" are in the annexed block. If you get the "B01 to probably B08" or "C01 to C04" these would be located on the ground floor and has sliding doors to a patio. However, in this weather, I noticed the grass patio was water logged. If you're concerned about mosquitoes, the room we had, came with an electric "Vape" mosquito repellent. (I assume it's standard for all rooms)
2) The King size bed was sufficient to accomodate the 4 of us quite comfortably, so no need to pay the extra RM50 for additional bed.
3) Rooms come with long bath and shower combo, but just make sure you turn on the water heater switch 1/2 an hour before you bath, else you'll hear blood curdling shrieks coming from behind the shower curtains!! The other interesting morsel of information is the "knob" that switches from the shower to the long bath faucet. You'll need a plier to pull the stubborn knob outwards to activate the faucet. Unfortunately, a handy plier was not on my survival kit list to pack, so I had to call housekeeing for assistance. Lo and behold, quick as a flash, the security-cum-housekeeping person came with, you might have guessed, a handy plier!! A bit of shampoo to lubricate the knob thingamajig, a firm twist and you're good to go.
4) Breakfast for 2 (FOC with the room) gets you a choice of 3 options. American, Continental or Local fare (nasi lemak, noodles, etc). We opted for the American, which comes with 2 toasts, butter and jam, corn flakes (you can ask for coco crunch or plain)& milk, 2 sunny side eggs, one slice of chicken ham and 1 sausage with a small portion of salad on the side. Tea or coffee, free refill.
5) There's a public garden and children's playground right outside the hotel (across the road). Though don't get your hopes up, the facilities (swings, slides, monkey bars, etc) are all in a bad state of disrepair. Again, because of the rains, the grounds are like mud traps for your shoes!! 6) You can get almost anything, by way of groceries, in the stores in Tanah Rata itself (a mere 2 minute walk from the hotel), but most of the shops don't sell canned pork (luncheon meat or stewed pork in cans). The exception being a chinese kedai runcit, besides HSBC bank, which stocks the stuff on shelves at the back of the store.(ask the helpful shop keeper and he'll happily point you to it)
7) If you ask for a tourist map, the hotel will sell it to you for RM4. It's the same price as sold at the the tourist spots, so just get one at the hotel. It's very useful, it shows where everyting is located, although sometimes the directions indicated are not extremely precise.
8) One other thing that would be important if your kids are still on formula, the water from the faucet turns slightly brown after a heavy down pour!! So make sure you bring enough water along or go get bottled drinking water to boil!!(in-house kettle provided)
9) Every room comes with a DVD, but we found that the one we had, could not play any of the 10 discs we brought along for the kids (all the disc's worked well in our MPV's DVD). So once again we called our trusty housekeeping. This time a "technician" came (whom I could have sworn, looked like the parking attendant at the hotel's basement parking) lugging a replacement DVD. After he fixed the problem, he tested one of the disc and behold, it works. After he left, we found out that that was the only disc out of the 10 that did. The rest, the DVD had a difference of opinion and just indicated, "no disc"..!!! (It was already late in the evening, so we left it at that)(Anyway, if you know kids, they can watch the same disc/show a hundred and one times and each time be as excited as if they were watching it for the first time, go figger)
Don't get me wrong, I'm not airing my grouses, I would gladly stay at Century Pines again, were I to go up to CH the next time (and tomorrow won't be soon enough). I am just regailing some of my personal experiences (and not necessary "bad", just part of the unique CH experience) for the benefit of others, whom I hope might benefit from it as I had.
Again, Karen, I hope you are not dissuaded by my inputs about CP, there are so much more good things about CP that I did not have a chance to detail here. My inputs are just to help you make your trip as memorable and fun as it was for my family and I. Frankly, what's not to love about CH.
P.S. If you like real X'mas tree's, do get one from the many farm/shops in CH, beats the plastic ones I had.

Yeah, from what i viewed at the Century Pines room in cameronhighlands.com, me & my gf are very satisfied with the room view so we decided to book a Deluxe room for May trip. From what we saw & the info we get, i think it would be nice to stay at Century Pines. All rooms come with bathtub, right? I've already ask for the price for Deluxe, it would be RM223++.

Coolznick, please don't raise your expectation on Parit waterfall. It is a bit disappointing.
But what I like about CP resort is that there is a big field near that resort. Plus it is so near to Tanah Rata.

Disappointing??? Haha! I guess so cos nobody mention before about this waterfall.
A big field??? Whats that for? Nice? Mostly the Deluxe room got balcony or what? So if we wanna take dinner, we just need to walk to Tanah Rata town?? Is it safe?
