Re:CH's Top 5 Eateries - 2007/10/16 12:59 [b]Hi, I am a resident in CH. Recently I was at Bunga Suria Rest in Tanah Rata for a meal. When I asked for some tissue paper, the owner replied that tissues are only for sale at 30 cents each.No free tissues.......I guess its a very bad impression for tourist.....anybody agree?

Re:CH's Top 5 Eateries - 2007/12/09 17:50 i've been to cameron highlands many times because i love the weather. recently i've discovered a new fantastic place in tanah rata. its called SUMMER PALACE. its located on top of hong kong restaurant in tanah rata. how can i describe this place? i was shocked when i first arrive in summer palace, as if i was some where overseas. its just doesnt look like malaysia at all, superb interior, the founders had put lots of effort in to the place to give their customer a different feel. the food is something different from what you have everyday. they have food from tibet, mongolia, and xinjiang and i heard there'll be more to come around the world. not to forget the staff which are superly friendly. i felt warm and happy while im here. oh ya , they play really good music too, and party starts from 10pm onwards and cheap beers. you guys out there should really really really check it out! you wont regret it, trust me!

check out their interior here,

Re:CH's Top 5 Eateries - 2008/01/08 11:17 After reading Jimmy's mail and Summer Palace's reply, my SM (soul-mate) and I were eagerly looking forward to dine, wine and usher in the new year there recently, but on arrival on the 30th December 2007, we found it is in defunct. Summer Palace is history now.

Re:CH's Top 5 Eateries - 2008/02/14 19:22 Dear Sir/ Maam,

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. However, Summer Palace is no longer operating as a restaurant. We have diversified the business to a pub under some circumstances. It is indeed a disappointment for many of our customers as they loved the food a lot. But dont worry, the place still look as good as before.

Our new operating hours is now from 6pm till 2am. We are now serving beers, snacks and lots of cool music that you can never find in Cameron Highlands. This I can guarantee.

Do drop by if you have any chance to come over to Cameron Highlands again.

We apologize again for all the inconvenience and disappointment we had caused to everyone!!!

Re:CH's Top 5 Eateries - 2008/05/04 23:13 I been to Summer Palace, not mistaken is in Tanah Rata. From out site it looks special, with a tall timy chimney on the roof. Even it is at the second floor but the staircase is like 45 degrees. If you are drunk for sure you will have a chance of 99.99% to roll all the way down from 2nd floor to the main street.
I was pretty dark and limited tables and chairs. If you come in a crowd the you may need to occupy 50% of the space. The upset this in this so call palace, all the windows are close and the is no air condition or air ventilation. People are smoking here and there and not fresh air can be in or out. If you are a none smoker then for sure with 30 minutes you will leave the place.
The toilet door is sliding and there is uneven floor. If you are semi drunk, good luck.
