Well Edward,
If you know Ipoh well enough, then get on to Jalan Gopeng and travel all the way South until you reach the big traffic light junction with a sign board that says "Pos Slim". This junction is roughly 400m from the Plus Highway Simpang Pulai toll. So if you come across the toll, do a U-turn.
Since the road is not gazetted yet, there are no signboards that point to Cameron Highlands for the time being and a reminder to you that you are travelling on this road at your own risk.
