Hi I Loh,
If you exit at Exit 214, you will be linked to the route that will take you via Subang Toll but that is linked to NKVE which is now closed for repairs till June/July.
Like it or not, it is best to go via Sungei Besi, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Kucing and on to Jalan Duta Toll.
Another alternative is to exit Sungei Besi, turn left into Jalan Mahameru, left turn into Jalan Kucing and on to Jalan Duta Toll.
On the above 2 alternatives, you are actually only skirting (inner ring) the city of KL.
There is one other way though but can be a go around for you. After the Sungei Besi Toll, take the outer ring highway that takes you to Ampang and on to Batu Caves. Head for Sungei Buloh and exit at Sungei Buloh exchange and head for Ipoh / Tapah.
