which Cameron Highlands I prefer. - 2002/10/11 04:29
Development is good, but what important is that what it will turn out to be, the town have to be well planned before anyone turn it to nothing, because that Cameron Highlands is a highland resort, I think is much propel that it will be planned no matter for the landscape design or the design of building, it’s must be equalize for the sake of beauty and FEEL for someone that ‘ll appreciate the theme of Cameron Highlands. For this we might think what we should plan and what kind of beauty that should be apply for it ? here is some of my opinions and dreams.
BUIULDING
All matter regarding building must be well consider include location, safety, design and suitability as to be part of Cameron highland. For location I would say that town area it’s no more suitable for any new building as it too crowded and full like Tanah Rata and Brinchang, It’s great the way it ‘s now, for my idea resort should be build with the surrounding of forest and green, people will much appreciate it, like Strawberry park. The safety of the building it’s also importance because the area it’s surrounded by hill side and landslide seem to be tourists concern. For design and suitability, design is very importance to build up image for the town, for me I would suggest Tudor design building as it’s already been applied, and beside that the quantity of building also must be equal to the need, if not, there is no point to build it. Another idea is to control size level of a town, this mean to build more small town but far in between each other, this is to stop development of main town area, by this not only the variety of the resort will increase but hopefully the air quality and coolness of the highland will be kept. In what ever way Cameron Highlands must to build by the person who really CARE about Cameron Highlands and development for good and not development just to be developed.
FRESH AND COOL AIR TO BE KEEP
No need to say, fresh and cool air is THE most importance Cameron Highlands product.
So we must make sure that this product must be continuously produce and place good hand on quality check line, It’s sad to say that even hotel owner tell me Cameron Highlands it’s no more a cool and the air come along with smoke from construction truck, people also said that it’s no different compare to another town like Ipoh or Taiping, to prevent this to be worsen, forest along town must be keep not only for fresh air but also the GREEN view of the town, if possible use other alternative road for heavy and construction vehicle.
PEOPLE
I understand that much of the Motel and Hotel is own by farmer and they’re very polite and friendly, but certainly not for their workers (farm) I saw them whistle and shouting around tourist, it’s not very appropriate, what I saying it’s that all workers no matter foreign or local should we well inform that this is a resort and people come here to rest,
And show hospitality that we should appreciate.
GOVERNMENT
Government is very importance as it’s not only as the law keeper to the town but it’s also the BUILDER to Cameron Highlands, For my idea, they should be well plan their schedule no matter from building to detail like something that should made tourist more comfortable or much appreciate it, example like, they should plan all construction only be done by low season so that the atmosphere of peak season will not be damage, because I saw lorry and heavy vehicle running around during peak season at Brinchang,. spread smoke and soil at road side on middle of November, so annoying and this it’s what I really don’t want to see, this kind of development should be stop.
This is only some of my idea for Cameron highlands which one day I hope what Cameron highlands will turn out to be, I really want Cameron Highlands to be a better place to live in and hopefully people ‘ll share the same passion with me.
