I'd suggest T-cafe. I finally visisted it in my last visit to CH. Ms.Terese just couldn't be friendlier! I absolutely fell in love with the strawberry cheesecake served there..so much so that i even pre-ordered one and brought it all the way back to KL. It's really rich in flavour and the texture is just so different from those we get in starbucks, coffee bean or even secret recipe!
All the oriental dishes like Fried rice etc at the place were perfectly done and i ended up going there 6 times in a row. They seemed to serve western food too, try it out if you wish.
Regarding those western food outlets in Tanah Rata: The waiters/waitresses din't seem to appreciate locals' presence. Funny enough, many of them were even trying to mimic some sort of accent.(It's a mixture of American and British accents, how foolish they were). I think it's quite safe for me to presume their main customers are the caucasians.
Western foods are far from my favourites so i guess you've got to count on the other forum users for more opinion. (I know i'm going to suffer when i go to my University..)
