Yes, i agree that's sort of disappointing. However, i started to realise the reason behind this. There seems to be quite a huge population of Indians staying in CH, so i think they(or even we)should more or less respect them. However, please don't worry about it at all. I'm planning to buy some pork and beef fillet when i go for my trip this coming 19th. It's always nice to pick a quiet corner where you can do anything naughty without getting seen by other people.(don't get me wrong when i say ''naughty'' things.. )

hi Kong..
do u really understand the real meaning of 'Halal'?

FYI for all: this including on how the chicken been cut which ought to be in Islamic way. Doesn't mean that a restaurant that doesn't serve beef/pork is considered as Halal restaurant. Except for they've applied for Halal cert & stick big Halal logo infront of the entrance which we Muslim can enter it without any doubt. Plus we are forbid to use utensils, cutlery, etc that have been used to cooked or touch those non-halal food. It means Halal food will never share things with Non-Halal food as talking about 'Halal' food in details is seriously a serious matter. Only we Muslim always have to considerate & prefer not to touch the food at all if we feels any doubt to it. (I'm sorry to brought up this matter as I've thru a case which this restaurant claimed as Halal but served nasi goreng with pork meat! It really a lesson to me..)

No offends but I really can't believe that you are going to do that "naughty" things (I assume that you have done this before), consider while you're doing it besides your table is a Muslim family having their nice dishes..

I think ''C'' has pretty much summed up what i wanted to say. I was quite busy these couple of days as i'm in the middle of my A level exams so i was totally unaware of this havoc that i've created. For your information, I'm a chinese, and as a non-muslim with little contact with muslims, i'm afraid i have to admit that i know zilch on the word ''halal'', and i seriously thought that a restaurant that doesn't serve pork should be considered a ''halal'' one and therefore, i believe i stand corrected.

Anyway, i beg your forgiveness as i really didn't intend to offend anyone.

To elson and istari: Mayflower isn't a pure vegetarian restaurant, not to my knowledge at least. I think the one that elson was talking about is called '' organic vegetables steamboat bla bla bla'' which is in Brinchang town. It's somewhere behind ''golden wing restaurant''.There's also a hotel nearby but i'm afraid i can't remember the name anymore.

Re:Steamboat - 2008/06/02 22:25 I realize that most of the visitors here are Chinese and Singaporean.. sorry if I tried to correct you Kong on the "Halal" issue..

Anyhow I just came back from there.. for those Muslim who wanted to try Steamboat, some of the Malay restaurant do serves a Steamboat there. I noticed it while walking at the town but I don't guarantee the taste.. I didn't get a chance to try the Steamboat. But the Malay dishes there not as tasty as my mom's cook heheh.. kinda dissapointed..

Well guys enjoy your staying there!!

Re:Steamboat - 2008/06/02 23:00 Hi C and Baby, I am a singaporean chinese. We do understand what is "Halah". When we visit a halah restaurant we do what muslim does. We will not bring any non-halah stuff into the restaurant.

By the way, Kong is a he not she. I was equally confuse before. I have been reading his kind comments in helping visitors. He has no intention to be funny, he is ignorant and playful. I understand he is only 19 and doing his A level. In one of his reply to a visitor he said his husband is a middle age Indian man. I have no intention to hurt anyone, its just to clarify some confusion. I also understand he is a malaysian. So it has nothing to do with Singaporean visiting CH. Most Singaporean understand what Halah means and will not do hanky panky in a Halah place.

Re:Steamboat - 2008/08/08 14:06 Just come back from Cameron, have tried two steamboat restaurant in Brinchang. First night (Friday), my hubby and i took steamboat at fung ling restaurant ( dont know this is correct name or not but it is located next to OK Tuck Restaurant). Its RM18/person, RM4 for tea and RM5 for chrysanthemum (teh bunga). The soup quite nice but the portion of food is small. And no services offer to add soup or tea. We have to odd for another restaurant for supper after taking the steamboat dinner. By paying RM41 for two person, personally feel its not value for money.

Second night, we went to country lodge restaurant which located opposite the Shell Station in Brinchang. Highly recommended this restaurant, the services is good. The food not only fresh but the portion also much bigger.

The service was very good, they would come from time to time to add soup, ask whether we need more tea. My hubby and i spend more than hour to finish the food, really full until we cant take any others food when we walk along the pasar malam. Guess what, with the extra order of a tin 100 plus, we only paid RM40 for two person.
