my dear, if I am not wrong this place is not within the town or walking distance from town. So please check, at CH, you must have your own transport, else stay within the town area so that you will not need to walk. Personally I find it not convenient if you dont drive, taxi are expensive and not regular sometimes, buses you can forget it. so choose carefully, some where near to tanah rate or Brinchang town, so many hotels in town.

Hi gman, Casa dela Rosa is a very nice hotel, it is opposite the only golf course of cameron highlands. In between Tanah Rata & Brinchang, its by the road side.
You may try Strawberry Park it is very exclusive and its near the golf course also. The price is about the same as casa del rosa. Strawberry park is off the main road but its not difficult to find. I paid Rm 227 per night during off peak season for studio apt, and we get a rebate of Rm 70 per day for breakfast or u can use it at the spa. Have a nice holiday.

if u travel with big group, (3-6pax), why not consider renting a apartment... the price is within your budget (RM200 to RM300)...

Re:casa dela rosa - 2008/11/03 12:29
If you are driving then perhaps it is a better idea to stay at those hotel far from the town. Equitorial is very nice hotel I heard and it has got a market very near to it also. Just to share with you, the sweet corn, sweet potatoes, rock melon up at CH are all very nice. THere is a mini mart where you can get almost everything basic that you need and they are not exp. BEar in mind, if you choose to go steamboat, AVOID Restaurant Silver Star, which is next to Hotel Gin Chua at Brinchang. My sister got it, I got it, then I realise in the forum every one is talk bad about this rotten star. also, some one mentioned the crystal guava is actually normal guave soaked in sugar with colour.. So take care, CH can be a nice place, but darling, this place got "potentials", never under estimate what the CH people can do. Never the less Have a nice trip.

Did you stay in the garden or golf view room? I read from on-line reviews the golf view rooms face the main roads and are noisy at night.

Just got back from cameron highlands a few hours ago ... spent a night at casa dela rosa, it's a pretty nice place, good service, spacious room, quiet and low noise pollution (the room i got was facing the golf course), nice garden ...
overall pretty good an experience ..
if u're looking for steamboat, avoid silverstar but do visit mountian house, next to silver star =)

Re:casa dela rosa - 2008/11/29 12:45
Hi J and gman,
Need some advice on the triple or quad room, I understand the triple are on the ground floor and facing the lobby while the quad is on the first floor, both are reportedly facing the golf course. I have read comments that the golf view rooms can be noisy at times, is it true? I will need some advise on whether to take the triple or quad room since I am travelling with 3 adults and 2 children and it might be worth paying slightly more for the bigger room with breakfast and one that is not facing the lobby.
Also, is the breakfast good? Thanks in advance, need information to make the booking in the next 1-2 days.
Regards, VDM

Hi VDM, if you are driving there you may consider Strawberry Park. Price is about the same as Casa del Rosa. Much more exclusive and away from the main road. The road leading to it is directly opposite the golf course entrance. Strawberry Park offer daily rebate which you can use it for F & B or other hotel facilities SPA included.

Re:casa dela rosa - 2008/11/30 13:37
Hi Andrew,
I have read bad reviews of Strawberry Park (some are good, no doubt). It costs >RM400 for the Tioga Apartment (3 pax) in Dec 2008. I am not keen to try my luck with that type of money. Btw, I have stayed in Equatorial before and I rated it lower than Century Pines in terms of value/psf. The room feels "cold".
I may just return to Century Pines, it is value for money and the rooms are cozy, but am thinking of trying out a new place. Most of the review I have read on Casa are positive, agree Casa is expensive.
We like cozy places, so any good recommendations that does not cost an arm and a leg? Frankly, accommodations in CH are expensive, for that type of monies, one can usually stay 5-star in KL (real 5-star not CH's 5-star). No offence to anyone. Thanks.
Regards, VDM

Hi VDM, The web-site to Casa del Rosa is at www.cameronpremierhotels.com.my . It may be difficult to get a room because its not a very big hotel. But its rather cosy. It seems everybody like Century Pines. May be I should try on my next visit.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the link, I have been checking out Strawberry Park (SBP") since your last post and apparently, it is possible to get the Tioga Apartment for below RM400 at some booking sites (most are above RM400), I may disregard all those bad reviews at Trip advisor and try it out? Any recommended website, my usual on-line travel website is not able to offer attractive rates for SBP and I am having problem with a Malaysian based one.
Century Pines is good, try it. Best place to book is wotif.com, very competitive pricing.
