Hi Skn, I am from singapore. If I am not wrong there are two routes to CH from Penang. Either you go into Ipoh or from the highway exit at Simpang Pulai or Tapah.
I suggest yo take the Simpang Pulai way up to CH. The road is less winding, much broader and view is just as good as the Tapah way. By Tapah you will reach Ringlets, then Tanah Rata and finally Brinchang.
From Simpang Pulai, you will be at Brinchang first, then down to Tanah Rata and further down is Ringlet and then its to Tapah.
From Singapore we reach Tapah first, from Penang you will reach Simpang Pulai first. But I usually pass Tapah and drive about another 50plus km I exit at Simpang Pulai. My wife prefer this route less sharp bends. We feel safer and the time taken is not much different. Have a nice trip. We are also planning to go sometime in Jan. Off peak, cooler and less houseflies.
