Any suggestions please... - 2008/09/22 01:58
Hello everyone. I am planning to visit Cameron Highland in middle Dec or Jan with my family. It is four of us and I wonder if you could suggest me the best hotel/apartment for four people. My budget is between RM180 - RM200 / night. Or if you know any hotel who have any package deal/promotion. This will be our first time visiting CH. I have tried surfing online and most of the hotels does not have their own website, so I dont know who to contact for details. We would therefore really appreciate your suggestions for our accommodation. Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you all.
Regards, Grace

The trouble is I have not been to CH lately and I am totally lost over the 14yrs of changes so cannot advice you too much. However, I am going in late Oct, hopefully by then I can share some thing with you. My sister suggested some new hotel near the Brinchang town, heard is Rm120/ nite. I dont have too much details.. not even the name of the new hotel. Heard also that nearby Sentosa hotel is quite ok... honestly i dont know any thing, so when I go then I can tell you what I know, but darling, please wait for me to go then I share with you.. meanwhile if some other darling can share with Grace Darling, please help out.
thank to all of you dear, who are so kind to help.

Hello Grace, try to go to www.cameronpremierhotels.com.my
They have 3 hotels currently, Hotel Rainbow, Rosa Passadena and Casa Del Rosa. These 3 are ok if you are not driving there.
If you are driving there try www.strawberryparkresort.com.my . You can also try www.cameronhighlands.com/heritage_hotel or you can try www.cameronhighlands.com/century_pines_resort/
Do take note that Dec is considered peak season like weekends and holidays. Jan is non peak except weekends and public holdays. You must book before you go during peak seasons.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your respond. Andrew - we are thinking to go by driving as one of my family member is a 'special needs' teenage. I will search those website you gave me and do you have any suggestions for the equatorial hotel? Tintin - I think the new hotel is call titiwangsa but I am not sure 100%. I have read some reviews from this web and one of them mentiond about this titiwangsa hotel, but not in details. I look forward to hearing from you once you come back from CH. Enjoy our trip. Thanks all once again

Hi Grace, I have not try Equatorial Hotel before. Both my trips this year I stayed at Strawberry Park Resort. I feel its more exclusive and the environment is good. The road leading to Strawberry Park is just opposite the only Golf Course. Its considered in Tanah Rata though its nearer to Brinchang.
The rates I check before is almost same with Equatorial. Since you are driving up I strongly recommend Strawberry Park. It takes you about 10 to 15mins by car to Brinchang, thats where most of the restaurants are located. Pl remember to avoid the restaurant name "Silver Star". They charge more than what they offer you at first.
Wish all of you a pleasant trip in advance. Its a must go! U can drive straight up to the Big Red Strawberry Farm at Brinchang. Its next to the Cactus Valley. Opp the Cactus Valley there is a row of shop houses. Look out for "Oldies & Goodies restaurant" They serve nice hongkong style noodle, congees and even steam-boats for dinner. Price reasonable.

Re:Any suggestions please... - 2008/09/24 12:39
Grace Dear, u are right, the web has little hotel infor. The big hotel will have some web infor,as to the smaller ones, practically there is nothing. Apparent, the smaller hotels are advertised from the words of mouth. People stay then recommend others then continue on... Recently I heard people saying that there are lot more new hotel especially at brinchiang. the last time I went was over 12 yrs... so really cannot tell and apparently they have grown so much also, I supposed not so cold also nowadays. Even by then also not so cool...day time can be just as hot as on plain. only eve and dawn is cool. Since you have a special need member, I suggest you will take up places like Strawberry park apartment or equitorial hotel, at least their facilities will be more comprehensive and they give a more standard service I supposed. When I go in Oct or so I will look for some smaller hotel, I will check for you whether it is acceptable. I will take my 2 little darlings there also.. is there any special need that perhaps you need some attention? for eg wheel chair access etc? honestly in Msia, this sort of facilites is still not quite there...Do remember to bring some extra warm clothing for your darlings since dec or Jan can be cooler and lots of rain also... which is in general for the whole Msia. By the way, darling, how are you going up there? are you from Spore or KL? From Spore there are only nite buses. Do make an effort to take your teenage out once in a while, he/she will see different things and this will do them a lot of good.CH is a good idea, cool, natural, animals, butterfly, bee farm, flowers, all the nice things are there... I always take my 2 darling out for travelling and apparently he is more matured than his friends. the younger darling is a bit troublesome, I am slow taking him out now more and more.. he cries at nite when he goes out.Sorry darling, I am getting into parenting .. oopps...

Hi Tintin & Andrew. Hope you both well. Thanks for the info. Tintin yes, if you could let me know the new hotel in CH that would be appreciated. My special need darling does not require a wheel chair (finger-crossed that he'll not use it ever), he can walk but slow...so any standard disable facilities would be fine or even standard facilities that makes him comfortable to walk/move. I know in Malaysia they don't have much any of these facilities. Hope Malaysian government will do something about this. Thanks so much Tintin I will also try get more info abt strawberry park and their facilities in CH Andrew, do you think they have nice steamboat, heard that SPR has charchoal style steamboat, have you tried? We definitely will try the Oldies & Goodies restaurant. Many thanks and sorry for the delay in replying.

Hi Grace, I have not try the Strawberry Park's steamboat. It's expensive and they only have it on certain days. If I am not wrong the price per head is almost double. I pay Rm 18 per adult at both Ok Tuck and Oldies and Goodies Restaurants. Their portion is large and it satisfy great eater like me.
If you choose to stay at Strawberry Park, you can tell them your needs and I am sure they can arrange a level that suit your son.
