Cameron Highlands 26-28 Jan 07 Brinchang
Finally, I have sometime for myself, to rest, to breath, to finish the rest of the my Cameron experience. Here we go, let see my 2nd day @ Brinchang actual itinerary:
0905, CS Travel came in time for the leisure tour. We has 4 other tourist with us too. 1st we head to Rose centre, it was a very short distance drive from our hotel, less than 5 mins. When we 1st went into the place, it look really small. But no when you realise there's more to explore as you move upwards. So dun hand around for too long at the 1st level when you are there. When we were up there, we saw a wonderful view of greenaries and lots of colourful flowers. Indeed it's really refreshing sight & breath. I took a number of pictures and have now become my wallpaper.
Next we head to Butterfly Farm, other than butterflies, there were snakes and insect too. The snakes looks really scary. Well as for the insect, sometime it's really hard to find them in the glass container decorated with some rocks & plants, cos some are species look jus like a leave or stem. We had fun jus trying to spot them in midst of the little plants.
Ooooh the most exciting part, was the when I saw the number of butterflies kept in a big cage, where i walk among them. There were countless of them and there are full of colours, beautiful patterns on their wings. It is something to wah about as we unable experience much of the nature in Singapore.
Next, next, the best place, to hang around and read a book too (but if you go w a tour there will no time for that, i thought the nex time i go there, i take a cab there. Equatorial is very near there). Boh Tea Plantation, it's about a few km away from Equatorial. Along the way in the van, as you enter the plantation, the tea plants are neatly grow in block and rows. Spread over a very widely over the hills. I really wonder how many manpower and time does it take maintain all this, to process it and finally distribute to different countries. Which end up in tea cup where I might be enjoying in my office. There was a short tour with a guide explaining how tea are processed. Right after we walk right into a exhibition hallway, where there has placed the olden days tea making machine and picture of the history till modern days.
You will able you get some of the BOH tea product there too.Must try the Caramel Tea. Yum Yum.. cant find it in Singapore yet.
Right tea plantation, was to Raju Strawberry farm just outside of Equatorial Hotel 5- 10mins walk. Nothing fantatics just 2 rows of the strawberries for you to take a look @. :I Well not until we find Big Strawberry Farms
We ended earlier than we tot so. Had the driver to send us straight to Brinchang and that we can save the cab fare. Heh. It was too early for lunch and we werent hungry at all. So we went ard to explore Brinchang.1st we by pass a primary sch hall and we find some sales on bedsheet, pillows, shoes & children clothing too. Bedsheet were having a superb deal!! At RM20 you get Queen size full set. Something for CNY indeed.
Since we are getting some bedsheet, I might as well withdraw some extra cash. There is a one and only bank at Hotel Rosa Passadena, some where behind the shell station. Near by the ATM machine, there were a few groceries and coffee shop. Hmm it seem quite empty tot we head back to the primary sch and start from the beginning of the town.
Disappointed we in less than 5 mins we have reached the beginning of the town where Irish Hotel is. Jus a bit further, thereis a Indian Temple and nthing much to head for then. Seem like there no where to head to... Then we saw a Big Strawberry farm poster! Raju Strawberry Farm wasnt tt exciting and we decided to explore another farm. On the poster it says it's 5 mins away, guess it was a 5mins drive away. Cos it took us abt 15 - 20mins to reach there. Nvrtheless, we gt to see some residential house which you dun get to see anything like that in Singapore anymore. maybe at Pulau Ubin bah.
In fact this Strawberry farm is just next to Cactus Farm. It's free entry. It's really welcoming, with all the pots of flowers and lots greenaries. We have found a place to enjoy! As we walk in further, there many lettuce countless of them. Many many many rows of Strawberrries. There sell them in a pot at RM 10 each. Oh man! How I wish I stay in Cameron, I am sure to buy a few pots to decorate my home. in there is a cafe and a sovenier shop where we get to taste a fresh salad at RM3.90. One gd thing abt it, is a self service for the salad, where you can take as much of strawberries, lettuce & cherry tomatoes in the big bowl that they provide. Not refillable thou, but we get to choose wat we can take more of.
