It was all by choice....
I could have had a cheaper holiday if I wanted to and I could have spent more if I had wanted to.
I wanted comfort and would have paid even more for Smokehouse or Cameron Highlands Resort if I had known that they were nicer.
So dun be frightened away, coz there are definitely cheaper get-aways in CH but it's just that I did not want to be stingy on a one day holiday with wife and daughter.

i think you shouldn't take your breakfast in EQ...it's very easy to locate breakfastin Brinchang (near pasar pagi & Tanah Rata...n the price is cheap. Travel to CH RM900 is not worth for your arrangement as you mentioned <very basic>. If everything can done in hotel, that call "hotel stay"
I'm pity that you had to spend so much in cameron, i'm suprise.
You should book in advance for the hotel do some research about the price & promotion. You can go to your nearest travel agent and to get more info. Cos now CH is not as 18 year back. It's very commercial rite now.
And i hope your article won't frighten away new visitor that keen to visit CH.

for RM900 sure it's a decent gateway
we stayed with the backpackers, chuck the luggage and spend the rest of time outdoor,
did all about that including 2 night room+food
for a mere RM120
off course, for RM900 sure you'll more BANG for your money
