27 Oct 2006:-
I start my journey with my 3 buddies just before dawn(6.30 a.m.) by boarding a bus from the Kamunting bus station to Ipoh old bus station.I reached Ipoh around 8 a.m.Rushing through the time,I managed to catch up with Kinta Omnibus to Cameron Highlands. The bus travels slowly through the slopy and steep road.We travelled via the Simpang Pulai road(new road) and it seems t be less winding. On our way,we saw strawberry farms and vegetable farms along the roadside. As the bus passed through kampung Raja,Kuala Terla and Tringkap,we reached Brinchang at last. The bus stopped and unload some passengers. We continued our journey to Tanah Rata. The bus stopped at the Medan Selera and we get down the bus.We walked over to the other side of the road and walked into Lorong Perdah which is situated beside the Kavy Hotel.I booked a room at Daniel's Traveller Lodge on a budget basis. The room costs me Rm 50 per night shared by four of us with a common bathroom. The place is not bad!!!Suitable for backpackers...The place is cool and invigorating!!!We checked in and went out for lunch!!!
We walked out to town and hunt for our FOOD(lunch),we took our lunch at Merrybrown restaurant and the place is crowded with lots of people We ordered 4 plates of chicken rice and walked back to Daniel's.We booked our countryside tour from Golden Highlands Tour Agency which the office is located at the Tanah Rata bus station. The tour starts at 2 p.m.We waited at Daniel's and the agengy picks us up there.
The agency took us to 8 places altogether... ;Butterfly farm,Apiary,Rose Valley,Cactus Point,Market Square,Sam Poh Temple,Sg.Palas Tea Plantation and lastly the night market!!!We enjoyed the tour but time is limited...So,we have to moved from place to place every 20 minutes... At the Butterfly,we really enjoyed ourselves as we manged to hold scorpians, beetles, grasshopper and butterfly ourselves...What an experince for me!!!We reached Daniel's at 7 p.m.We took our shower and went into our room... We cooked our own Maggi mee as I brought a portable stove to Cameron Highlands...Maggi mee is so delicious to us especially when we are hungry...We went to bed early at 10 p.m.
