Andrew,
You're welcome, ya, there is Habu and Sg. Palas Tea Plantation, both have the similar function and look, but since that Sg. Palas one just went thru some renovation, look more modern, with a protrude out balcony like cafe, sure will attract a lot of visitor. but for me I prefer something more natural and green, so I'll start returning to Habu Tea Plantation more often. you do enjoy your stay at Cameron. chat again.

I am quite confused about the Tea Plantation visit. I have been to Cameron Boh Tea Plantation of Habu for a few times and I find the environment very beautiful and natural, with guided tour of the tea factory ending at the outdoor cafe and souvenir shop. This plantation is also listed in the map. No one in the forum really mentioned this place but always refer to the 'Boh Tea Plantation" in Sungai Palas on the way to Gunung Brinchang. How come this "Boh Tea Plantation' is not listed in the map? Is the one of Habu still operational and open to visitation. Does this mean there is now two Boh Tea factory available for visit and tour besides the Bharat Tea Plantation stopover? Hope Lew or anyone can provide more information. Thanks. |

I read Lew's trip with interest. Due to short notice, I am having dificulty getting accommodation for my coming trip to Cameron Highlands for two nights on 25 and 26 Dec 2005. I have been to Cameron Highlands a few times for the past 25 years (I am now 40 years with a family) and find staying at Brinchang most suitable for a Cameron trip. I want to try Chua Gin Hotel stayed by Lew (or any recommendation that reasonably clean, spacious and no problem with parking at Brinchang on the dates stated.) Is Chua Gin suitable for family: 2 adults and 2 children below 11 years old? Any suggestion is appreciated. My email is chuatc@gmail.com or sms to HP 012-4099898. Many thanks, Andrew (Penang). |

Good morning, Lew!
Thanks a lot! Been to CH since I was a kid. Been to Boh Tea Factory many times but didn't know the road to G. Brinchang Tower is via the Palas road! No wonder my dad never brought us there when we're kids. Always hear him talking abt how dangerous it was & stories about accidents on way up. Guess, I won't take the risk too. Any idea how long does it take to walk up there??
Going CH again this 16 Dec. Besides own family, bringing anoth along. 1st time for this family. It's going to be fun - 4 adults+7 kids. R u resident there?

Good Morning May...
I think there is no road signs for Gunung Brinchang...Em?! I think so, because I found it out from the map, you know the tea plantation at Palas? the tea plantation by the road opposite to Ee Feng Bee Farm? drive in to the Tea Plantation and go along the the road and you'll come to a junction which go straight is to the factory and tea house, you can see the small polis pondok. and turn left is way to Gunung Brinchang which the watch tower located, drive about half hour and you'll reach there, you need to drive slowly due to the road condition there, and make sure your car is in good order and a 4x4 is better, remember, the road is meant for estate usage and is nallow, and you can't have your insurance claim using the road. please beware...chat again.
