I don't think name calling is necessary. Anyway, I think the previous writer was probably thinking that after driving all the way from Singapore to KL and then on to Tapah is taxing enough without having to endure the 60Km stretch of bends that one has to negotiate from Tapah to Tanah Rata! Clearly, it is a lot safer to start your journey when you're more refreshed from KL than from Singapore. Unless, of course, you've got two drivers! |

Easy to get rental car in Malaysia. I got reasonably good rate from Avis at KL airport. A map is not that essential since there is only one road going north and you stay on it until you reach Tapa. Check the www. This road is similar to N American freeway and is v. easy to drive. But after Tapa, beware! The road is narrow and very very very windy! By, windy, I mean lots and lots and lots of bends!! For a group of you, it should be a fun drive. But hope there is no travel sickness on board! |

i just picked up a free map fr the Malaysian Tourist Office at No. 80 Robinson Road.
i found rates fr the respective websites for JB car rentals in the following order, cheapest first: Avis, Hertz, Budget. |

I don't think you will have any problems getting a car in Johor or Kuala Lumpur or any of the big cities. The same goes for the map.
Give it a try! |

Hi
I have a group of friends from the US who are interested in driving from Singapore to Cameron Highlands. Any ideas to:
1. where to rent a car that can take 6 people & luggage - may be in Johore Bahru?
2. where can they get driving maps for getting from Johore Bahru up to Cameron Highlands?
thx, Jo |
