Another restaurant to avoid -- Restoran Silverstar -- they fleece tourists, charged RM30 for a small claypot of curry vegetables which contains a few miserably small slices of fish. And RM15 for another small plate of Cai Xin with out any other ingredients. While we were eating, we overheard a group of other tourists, wearing AIA T-shirts complaining too. |

Hi Jc,
So sorry, I only take steam-boat there. It was recommended by a local sales girl at kea farm. May be they just make a dish from bits and pieces. They may have cut the chicken meat for steam boat that's why the chicken were mainly bones. Or if its kampong chicken then you can't get much meat.
I did said the lady boss is not friendly. You see her attitude and face you will not like her. Next time try Hou You restaurant its opposite, but avoid Silver Star. Other than this I suppose you did enjoyed your holidays. |

Hi, I went to CH for 3 days 2 nites in Oct08. I have a very bad experience in OK Tuck restaurant which I want to share with you all. On the first day, we have our steamboat dinner there. I agreed with Andrew that their steamboat is not bad in terms of quantity and quality. We ordered 3 persons' portion for 4 adults and the quantity is good enough to satisfy us. That's the reason to make us go back there for dinner the next day. On the 2nd visit, we ordered ala carte. One of the dishes is ginger steamed chicken. We ordered this dish because the weather is cold and we were thinking to order a dish to warm ourselves. Ok, the dish arrived - steamed chicken cutlet with lots of ginger paste slapped on top. SO while we were tucking away, we noticed that there was actually 4 chicken butts and 90% of the dish was bony parts. Where was the breast and thighs we thought...so we called the lady boss over and quizzed her. She told us this is half a chicken. I asked her where is the drumstick and the thigh? She just gave us some irrelevant answers and the puzzled look and just walked away. Well maybe the chicken had 8 butts, cos half a chicken already has 4 butts..damnnnn....i kena con~~ |

Hi Andrew, I do recall there were some one mentioning the con-shop. But I actually forgot the name. Now I remember forever...though sounds wonderful as Silver star but they behave more like Dark clouds Restaurant. lesson learnt for me.. worse of all is that this restaurant is always full, despite all that happen, some people get it some people dont.. I suppose. Let's not get angry over that but main thing is to warn all about it. I will keep posting this message in various timing so that readers at different timing will get to see this topic. despite that stupid steam boat I still have a good time picking strawberries and had lots of fresh air to de-tox the angry from that stupid Star. any way, all to take care. THanks andrew for sharing with us in the forum... |
