Don't get me wrong, SinChee. I love CH for its serenity and awesome climate too! (though the former isn't true during peak seasons). I never bother to buy any vegetables as i don't cook(apparently, at this age). I personally prefer Brinchang over Tanah Rata as it doesn't seem to be as compact and busy as the latter.
I'll be spending three days at Penang(purely for its food!!!)and another 4 days in Cameron Highlands after finishing my exams. One more week to go~~woop woop!! |

That depends on the place that you stay at, too.
I bet you wouldn't get it in towns like Brinchang.
On the flip side of the coin, you can't have the convenience as what towns, like Brinchang, can offer.
On a side note, I'm not so sure what are the expectations for the new generation of visitors. But back than (many years ago), we visited CH for the agricultural beauty and weather. Shopping was not on our list of things to do, other than to buy agriculture produces. Neither was entertainment. If you are expecting CH to have all that and much more, than I would suggest you try Genting, KL or Penang. You will be happier with their offering.
I visit CH for the views and cool weather.

I can't agree more with what you said, caroline.
But to me, the use of agricultural products seems slightly inappropriate as that covers everything that has to do with, well, agriculture. There are stuff that are sold raw and certain ones that have been processed, for example, cooked foods. The wood carvings looked cool to me but the exorbitant price just took me off my interest. |

The moral behind the shopping activities in Cameron Highlands is you don't like or do not have interest in agriculture products, you'd better not shop or visit Cameron Highlands. Because the common or norm items to shop or visit in Cameron Highlands involves 90% agriculture products and 10% other handicraft (e.g. clothings printed with Cameron Highlands or wood carvings etc). Have a nice trip in Cameron Highlands! |
