Andrew Lee Hi Waenhir, from the JB airport, which is Senai airport, as you come out of the airport, that road itself u look out for the highway sign that shows to Kuala Lumpur. Its not more than 5mins from the airport. I estimate its about 2 to 3 kms only.

Once you are on this highway u will not go wrong. U will pass thru a few towns, kulai, machap, air hitam, yong peng etc. Its all the way to Seremban. After Seremban and heading to Nilai look out for the sign that shows u to Ipoh, KLIA which is the new international airport.

On this highway keep on the direction that shows to Ipoh. After u pass Petaling Jaya, KL, look out when u come to a split highway that shows left to Sungei Buloh/Ipoh. Head this way, then u will pass Rawang etc. When u reach Tapah rest point, after that you may exit the Tapah toll to Cameron Highlands.

I suggest you don't exit from Tapah, head on for another 40 to 50 kms to Simpang Pulai exit. Once you exit the toll turn right at the T junction. Keep to your right and after 300 meters at the first cross road junction turn right.

Then u are on your way to Cameron highlands. Its all the way up till u reach a junction that shows u to Blue Valley and u turn right here that shows u to Brinchang or rather Cameron Highlands. Timing is about the same if you go by the old way which is at Tapah exit.

Reason I suggest the Simpang Pulai way is because the road is wider, more scenic, safer, less winding or sharp bends. Even overtaking heavy vehicles is very safe because some bends will have two lanes.

U wont get lost because there are signs to show u to Brinchang, Kea Farm, Tanah Rata, Ringlets. If u choose the Tapah exit then u will reach Ringlets, follow by Tanah Rata, then Brinchang.

Please have a safe and pleasant trip. It took me about 8 to 8 1/2 hour from Singapore to C H. And I stop for toilet break about every 100 to 150 kms. Pl be assured that u will enjoy your trip.

Sincerely, Andrew.
waenhir Can anyone tell me what is the best route driving from johor airport to camerons? We are taking a bus to johor airport from singapore to get ur rental and then driving up.

This is our first time driving up and would very much welcome any suggestions.
pearlie Just want to share some of the things I enjoyed enroute to/from Cameron.

1) Use the new route - It may be further distance but it is less winding & many have told me in terms of time, it is about the same.

2) Stop at the Tapah rest-stop for toilet break - It is one of the cleanest, most enjoyable toilet experience I've had.

3) Buy seedless Guava at the Tapah stop - It's a good buy if you like to eat Guavas.

4) Stop at Tapah just outside the town for lunch - Exit via toll. Go towards the Tapah town. See a SHELL petrol station on your right. Just slightly a few metres on your left is a Chinese restaurant (River House?? Can't remember the name) It serves delicous chinese dishes, like steam frogs' legs, eel fried with dried chilli!

5) Break journey at Port Dickson - if you are looking for a place to stopover instead of driving (8.5 hours) all the way back & you are not willing to risk getting stuck in KL traffic. I must warn though that that beach is NOT fantastic...
