I just came back from cameron highlands recently. It was such a great trip!! We drove from KL and took the Tapah road which is in good condition to me. Reach brinchang at around 3pm and checked-in to Jasmine Hotel located opposite KFC. The hotel has been operated since the past 2 years but they sure know how to keep it clean and tidy. The services are good, they were very friendly even towards local. Thats what most important to me.
With the costs of RM55, i manage to get a standard room which has a very, very, clean bathroom with a shower & heater, and also a very, very clean room with beds, tv, cupboard + dressing table. They even provide us towels. There's also a thermos for hot water, but we have to go and get the hot water on our own at the receptionist counter. But that doesn't give me any trouble.
We stayed in our room for the 1st night and only went out for dinner. The next morning, we had our breakfast at Sungai Palas Boh Tea Plantations which is the best place to visit in cameron highlands. We had 3 currypuffs, brownies (which i won't be recommend to anybody), mushroom soup with breads, tuna sandwich and not to be missed tea. The scenery was awesome.. I didn't even want to leave that place.
After taken few pictures, we then started our journey to the markets, butterfly farm, strawberry farms, cactus farm and many more which i can't really remember. We did stop at a chinese steamboat restaurant located at 1 of the strawberries farm and a market and had our lunch there. The food was nice but not the surroundings. By the end of the day, what interest me the most is the organic vegetables farm on top of the hill's at Brinchang town.
We only paid rm10 and we got 7 differents types of very, very fresh salads where the workers plucked at the same time right away. Can u imagine how much that can costs if we bought it in a supermarket in KL? I was so shock but happy, i even called all my friends in KL and ask whether they want me to get them the salads or not!
That night, all we had for dinner is salad + dressing. it was such a healthy dinner.
The 3rd day was our last day there, so we checked-out at 12pm and said goodbye to the friendly hotel staffs. I will surely come back to that hotel again!
We drove to Tanah rata and had our lunch at the best cafe in town, T-Cafe! After reading all the reviews and good comments from others, i decided that i shouldn't be missing this cafe.
We had strawberry tea & scones (which is the best scones i've ever tried). Mushroom soup n garlic breads, lasagna & local fried rice which is good. But the best part is the it feels like home. I found out that all the reviews and comments are true, this is the place that shouldn't be missed by anyone who comes to cameron highlands.
Before we leave cameron, there's 1 more place that i would like to stop to get something!!
We drove to Robinson's waterfall, parked our car, cross the bridge, and walked through a small path towards the forest. It was a lil'bit rainy, so, it was cold and hazy that afternoon. The river was muddy and the path was slippery. So we had to becareful and walked slowly. We stopped at a house in the middle of the forest, and there's an uncle who welcomed us to the house. Fresh home-made blackberry, strawberry and marmalade jams!! The taste is awesome!! Especially the blackberry which i love the most. I would happily recommend to anybody that this should be a not to be missed place as well. i've completed my mission ,I bought 3 bottles of jams and we then drove back to KL safely.
I will never forget the time i had in cameron, and i will surely come back again!! |
