There is no shortage of places to eat in Cameron Highlands when it comes to food. At night (especially during during weekends & holidays) restaurants are packed since there's very little to do after the sun goes down.

You can get everything from Western, Chinese, Indian and Malay food to Thai and Japanese food here. Most restaurants are located in Tanah Rata and Brinchang however you could also find some good restaurants in Tringkap and Kampung Raja where the locals usually dine.

There is no food which is unique to Cameron Highlands however dining out here can be a great experience especially with to the cold weather and freshness of the greens. The favorites are :

Steamboat Dinner
Having steamboat for dinner on a cold highlands night is something you should never miss. There are a lot of restaurants in Tanah Rata and Brinchang which offers this treat. Price starts from RM12-RM22 per person.

Tea & Scones
This English tradition is still alive and popular here in Cameron Highlands. Locally grown tea and freshly baked scones is a must try on your  trip to Cameron Highlands. Although it is available in a lot of places around Cameron Highlands, only a few places serve really good scones.

Jasmine Cafe
Tanah Rata | Along the main street. Same block as Bank Simpanan Nasional

Jasmine Café is one of the restaurants which have been around since the early 90’s but with it's recent facelift, it has become one of the popular restaurants for good western food at a reasonable price. With its bright orange décor, the restaurant now spots an open and lively concept which is very cozy and inviting.

The Lord's Cafe (Formerly TCafe)
Tanah Rata | Along the main street. Opposite the bus terminal, above Merrybown.

Formerly known a the T-Cafe, this is one the popular restaurants which have been getting good reviews from visitors to the highlands since it opened its doors in 2002. An ideal place to unwind and have some tea and scones which enjoying the environment in the cafe. The strawberry scone is one of the popular items here. Hidden away in a quiet corner of Tanah Rata town, The Lord's Cafe also offers other local and western food on their menu.

  Glory 78 Restaurant
Located along the main road between Tanah Rata and Brinchang. Beside Hotel De'La Ferns.

One of the top restaurants serving HALAL steamboat in the highlands. Located away from the town center, this is becoming one of the favorite stopover for tourists avoiding the crowd of the towns.

Tanah Rata | Located on the same block as the Maybank.

Restoran Ferm Nyonya is a popular restaurant among the locals and visitors to the highland. They have recently moved to Tanah Rata from their previous location in Brinchang. If you're looking for good Nyonya food, this is the place to come to.

Uncle Chow's Kopitiam
Tanah Rata | Located at the Royal Lily Park.

The first kopitiam to open in Cameron Highlands in 2007, Uncle Chow's has its loyal following of locals and tourists alike. Hidden away in a quiet corner of the Royal Lily Park in Tanah Rata, this is the place for good local food and a relaxing highland atmosphere.
 

  Kougen Japanese Restaurant
Tanah Rata | Located beside the Hong Leong Bank.

Once of the newest restaurant in Tanah Rata which opened its doors in the late 2011. Serving more than the ordinary Japanese fare, Kougen is becoming a popular spot for locals and tourists. Good place for scones with home made jams.

Another restaurant hidden at the Royal Lily Park. Service a variety of local dishes, this is the place a lot of locals go.

  Excellent Food Centre
Tanah Rata | Located at the Food court opposite Hong Leong Bank

A place for delicious cheap food, this is where the locals go for their lunch. This stall has been in operation since the late 80's and the chicken chop rice is among the favorites on its menu.

  Restaurant Bunga Suria
Tanah Rata | Located at the same Block as Bank Pertanian

One of the very few good Indian restaurants in Tanah Rata. With a good variety of Indian veg and non-veg, this place is also a favorite "teh tarik" spot for the locals.

  Rosedale Bistro
Tanah Rata | Located above the Rose Lane Cafe. (Beside AM Bank)

This is another one of the favorite spots tourists flock to get good selection of local and western food.

Tang Dynasty
Tanah Rata | Above the Num Song Mini Market (Few shoplots away from the Post Office)

Popular for a wide selection of hot and cold desserts. The shaved ice cream is one of the favorites here. Also available a small selection of noodles and rice dishes.
